The Reverend Shane Carlson
Curate
Shane Carlson recently finished up his Master of Divinity at Virginia Theological Seminary. St. Thomas is his first placement as an ordained person in the Episcopal Church.
A husband, father, and priest, Shane is a cradle Episcopalian and grew up at St. Andrew’s, near Greenlake in Seattle. He spent his first career at non-profit Christian retreat centers throughout the United States and in British Columbia. Through almost three decades of working with various church denominations in his non-profit work, Shane is comfortable connecting with people of all denominations. These ecumenical connections have also verified his theological home and roots are in the Episcopal Church. Shane received his undergraduate degree from Seattle Pacific University in Christian Education.
He is passionate about fostering community, describes himself as a “Jesus person,” and his favorite verses in scripture are Philippians 2: 1-11.
Shane, his wife Allison, and their three children are thrilled to be moving back to the Seattle area after graduation. In their free time together, the family likes to seek outdoor adventures, catch local sporting events, and support the kids in their many activities.
