This page says "Education" at the top ... but that's just
scratching the surface. Within the church, we talk about "Formation,"
the lifelong process by which we orient ourselves to God's dreams
for our world.
St. Thomas offers many ways for you to learn more about the Bible,
church history, and theology, and to deepen your faith throughout the
entire process.

Welcome to St. Thomas!
This general introduction to St. Thomas is a four-session series
occurring twice a year, and it aims to acquaint newcomers to our parish
and introduce them to the Episcopal Church. Sessions are led by the
staff of St. Thomas. Our next series will be held after the 10:15
Eucharist on September 26, October 3, 10, and
17. Topics
may include Anglican/Episcopal identity and spirituality, the history
and mission of St. Thomas, a tour of the church, and an overview of our
many ministries. Childcare may be available by request. For more
information or to RSVP, contact the Rev. Steve Best at
425-454-9541 or steveb@stthomasmedina.org.
Sunday Forums
At 9:15 each Sunday morning during the program year, a staff person,
parishioner, or special guest presents a forum or part of a forum
series. Here are descriptions of forum topics for the second half of the
2009-2010 program year. Sunday Forums will resume on September 12, 2010. Contact: Dwight
Russell, Adult Formation Advisory Committee (425-455-4817)
Baptismal Preparation
This class prepares parents and godparents for their
child’s baptism through engaging discussions about why we baptize, what
it accomplishes, and what it means for a person’s life in the context of
a community of faith.
Our next two-part baptismal preparation class
with the Rev. Steve Best will lead to baptisms on All Saints'
Sunday, November 7, 2010. The classes will be held on
Saturdays, October 30
and November 6,
from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Contact: The Rev. Steve Best, Associate for Couples and
Families (425-454-9541 or

The Journey
St. Thomas Catechumenal Process
Where are YOU on the journey? Have you never been baptized? Are you
baptized, but feeling a pull toward a renewed commitment to Christ?
The Journey is for adults wishing to be baptized; it’s also for
anybody else who wants to publicly reaffirm their
Christian faith.
Whether you’re new to Christianity, new to the Episcopal Church, or
simply feel a call to a deeper proclamation of your faith, the Journey
is for you. It is a program of education as a Sunday afternoon
community. But more importantly, you will be paired with another member
of the congregation who will act as your sponsor. The Journey culminates
each year with baptisms at the
Great Vigil of Easter and reaffirmations of faith (including confirmation)
at Saint Mark’s Cathedral in the days following. If you have
iTunes installed on your
computer, listen to this
podcast, presented by the Rev. Steve Best, about
the many paths to baptism and current St. Thomas practice and traditions
around baptism. Contact: The
